The Cost of Integration Disruption survey. Version 1.0, effective September 15, 2026.

1. Who is running this survey

This survey is conducted by Arion Research LLC ("Arion Research", "we", "us"), an independent research and advisory firm, 1800 JFK Blvd, Suite 300 PMB 90705, Philadelphia, PA 19103, on behalf of a technology company that has commissioned the research (the "Sponsor"). The Sponsor is not identified while the survey is in the field. The Sponsor will be named when the findings are published, and the published methodology will state that the Sponsor was not disclosed to respondents.

2. Who can take part

You may take part if you are at least 18 years old, you have been invited through a research panel or another recruitment route that we or our panel partner operate, and you meet the screening criteria at the start of the survey. Screening questions concern the country in which you hold IT responsibility, your job level, and your involvement with system integrations at your organization. If you do not meet the criteria, the survey will end and no further answers will be collected.

You may complete the survey only once. Duplicate responses, responses submitted on behalf of another person, and responses submitted through automated means will be removed.

3. Voluntary participation and withdrawal

Taking part is voluntary. You may skip the open-text question, which is optional, and you may stop at any time by closing the browser window. Answers from an incomplete survey are not used in the analysis and are deleted in accordance with the Privacy Notice. If you wish to withdraw a completed response, you may contact us within 30 days of completion as described in section 9 of the Privacy Notice.

4. Incentives

Arion Research does not pay respondents directly. If you were invited through a research panel, any reward or incentive is provided by the panel operator under the panel operator's own terms and conditions, and questions about rewards should be directed to the panel operator. Rewards are normally conditional on a complete response that passes the data quality checks described in section 6. Arion Research is not responsible for the panel operator's incentive programme.

5. How to answer

We ask that you answer honestly and from your own knowledge of your organization. Where you are unsure, please use the "Not sure", "Don't know", "Prefer not to say" or "We cannot estimate this" options rather than guessing. Cost questions ask for approximate banded estimates, not precise figures.

The open-text question invites you to describe, in your own words, one integration disruption your organization experienced. Please do not include names of individuals, names of customers, suppliers or other companies, contract values, or any information that is confidential to your employer or that you are not permitted to disclose. Describe what happened in general terms. We screen open-text answers before use and remove any identifying details we find, but you remain responsible for what you choose to write.

6. Data quality

We apply standard research quality checks to every response, including checks for implausibly fast completion, identical answers across a series of questions, contradictory answers, and duplicate or nonsensical free text. Responses that fail these checks are excluded from the analysis. Where a panel operator is involved, we report exclusions to the panel operator using its respondent reference only, and the panel operator applies its own rules on rewards. We do not disclose your individual answers to the panel operator.

7. Use of your answers

Your answers will be combined with those of several hundred other respondents and analysed in aggregate. The findings will be published by Arion Research and the Sponsor in reports, presentations, articles, webinars, podcasts, press materials and similar formats, and may be quoted by third parties. No individual respondent or organization will be identified in any published output, and we will not publish any result based on a group of respondents small enough to risk identifying anyone.

Free-text answers may be quoted in published materials, in whole or in part, in edited or paraphrased form, without attribution and with any identifying details removed. By submitting a free-text answer you grant Arion Research and the Sponsor a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, edit, reproduce and publish that answer in anonymized form for research and publication purposes. You do not transfer ownership of your words and you receive no payment for their use.

A de-identified dataset containing survey responses, with no names, contact details, panel identifiers, IP addresses or other direct identifiers, may be shared with the Sponsor for its own analysis. The Sponsor is contractually prohibited from attempting to re-identify any respondent. See the Privacy Notice for the full description of how your data is handled.

8. Confidentiality of the survey

The survey questions, structure and any interim findings are the property of Arion Research and the Sponsor. You may not copy, publish or share the survey content, and you may not use automated tools to extract it. This does not limit your right to describe your own participation in general terms.

9. No warranty and limitation of liability

The survey is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it will be available at all times or free of technical faults. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arion Research and the Sponsor are not liable for any loss arising from your participation, from a technical failure of the survey platform, or from the actions of a panel operator. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under data protection law, which are set out in the Privacy Notice.

10. Changes

We may update these terms while the survey is in the field to correct errors or reflect changes in the law. The version shown at the time you start the survey is the version that applies to your response.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, United States, excluding conflict of law rules. Where you take part from the United Kingdom or Germany, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer and data protection rules of the country in which you live that cannot be excluded by agreement.
